Email accounts for non-affiliated users to be deactivated starting Dec. 15

Following previous announcements in SLAC Today regarding new eligibility requirements for SLAC email accounts and decommissioning Unix email, SLAC IT Mail Administrators will begin notifying affected email account owners with details of what to expect and recommended steps.

The timeline for deactivating email accounts for non-affiliated users is:

  • Unix accounts - Dec. 15, 2023
    Email notification to affected account holders will be sent Nov. 1, 2023
     
  • Email forwarding only - Jan. 15, 2024
    Email notification to affected account holders will be sent Dec. 16, 2023
     
  • Microsoft Exchange accounts - Feb. 19, 2024
    Email notification to affected account holders will be sent Jan. 16, 2024
